The inventory is mainly based on literature data.0The data set represents a global and unified applied technology. The data set can be adapted to the country / region specific situation by using the applicable data sets with the country / region specific conditions. The process serves to estimate the energy consumption of grain drying of a freely selectable starting humidity to 14% of remaining humidity. The starting humidity of the goods to be dried can be variably adjusted between 15 and 30%. The system boundaries only include the drying process itself, the required energy carriers are outside the system boundaries and must be added as input. The calculations are based on basis data from KTBL (Association for Technology and Structures in Agriculture) "operational planning agriculture 2002/2003" and have been adjusted for use in LCA. Changes in thermal energy consumption depend on the fact whether the drying is based on direct or indirect heating. Therefore, the heating type can be chosen ("type"). Parameter description: elec: The functional dependence on the energy consumption for the starting humidity is interpolated over different measurement points (see formula in the GaBi process). oil: The functional dependence on the oil consumption of the starting humidity is interpolated over different measuring / measurement points (see formula in the GaBi process) and different for direct and indirect heating. It can be used to characterise the supply chain situation of the respective commodity in a representative manner. Combination with individual unit processes using this commodity enables the generation of user-specific (product) LCAs.
